Hello world!

This is when  one really gets to feel old. When your daughter sends  you photos of her children  ready for a new school year . Cody , Luke  and Ryan  along with Mum and Dad live in Queensland , so Nanna does not get to see them as often as she would like .

But isn’t modern technology wonderful. Instant veiwing of photos.

Cody is into card making and had sent me one a while ago and I will share it today.

As you see no creating today but I hope you don’t mind if I digress a little. Cody gets his creativity from his Mum , who is embarking on her own ARTFUL journey. Please if you  have a moment , check out her blog.

 1st October

Hi  there . I have mentioned before how happy I am to be involved with Stampin’Up. Well this month has been a shocker and if it were not for this hobby and my “room” ..?

Although my time for actual creating has been really tough to find , I have been able to spend some precious moments browsing the catalogues and using some of the other products , other than stamps , from my stash of Stampin’Up accessories.

One of the new card images put in tonight , is  an  example of using punches .

Many of the companies stamps are designed to coordinate with some  of their other accessories and they will combine to compliment your artistic creativity.

So here I am , still learning , exploring, sharing and being inspired by it all .

hello there and welcome to my room .

have been busy with workshops at the Round-a-bout, with a batch of really talented people. Now  I have to say people , because there are some  men there too.

Love this cold weather as it is easy to convince myself that the garden does not need attention and we dont go out walking as much so  IT’S  CRAFT ING TIME .  Will show you some of the projects .

                               See you in the gallery.

Hi Visitor , and welcome back.

Hope you enjoyed the holiday season

Hubby and I really had a wonderful

Christmas with our daughter

the last  few days. Hope you like them.

 November

Hello Visitors , glad you could make it .

Firstly I want to wish you all a Happy  Christmas and a New Year that’s full  of Wonderful Surprises.

I will be away for December and some of January .

I was going to stop my BigBlog site but have decided to keep both it and the wordpress site .Big blog one will be for work that is other than Stampin’UP! Projects. While the wordpress site will be for exclusively Stampin’UP!

As soon as I return from holidays I will endeavour to “clean up “ both and  hopefully make them more interesting, with    more work on display.

 Earlier Words

made a few Christmas cards and  now  I am taking a break by making general cards. I had a work shop through the week as well.

Since joining Stampin’Up I have several pks. of 12″x12″ double sided papers and Simply Scrappin’kits,[papers and card stock ] which have sheets of self-adhesive die cuts  included. Todays Tip..I  bought [from  cheap Warehouse] plastic satchel type holders for each of  these paper sets. These keep the     co-ordinating papers together [and I even keep the cut scrap pieces in it]Also they stop the corners from being damaged.

Have put some of this week’s work in new card gallery.

Happy Crafting….Shirley

Monday 1st September,

another week , soon be Christmas!  I dont mind the winter weather because it is great for indoor craft time. As I said earlier I am making Christmas cards . I need over 100 so I have to start early . My family and friends buy a few from me so that helps to replenish supplies . I will put some in the gallery when finished here .

My Room is a total mess when I have these seasonal cards to make  ..ha ha ..well more so than normal , I should say . It’s like baking;  I generally put out all the Christmas stamp images, all the appropriate  embellishments , papers and card stock. I find that it suits me to make all the card blanks first, varying the sizes and folds[ side or  top or gate fold ] . And some with apetures. Then I make sure that the ink pads that I am going to use are reinked if it’s  needed.

I wonder if most people will relate to this methodology…have you ever started baking a cake only to find you only have one egg and need three ?

Any way it is my hint for the day ; Plan your card and make sure you have the tools and stuff you need before you start. That way if you have to improvise you can change your idea before cutting or stamping .

BUGGER… having said that I can remember some of my best results have come from add hoc , spur of the moment, use what’s handy action ! But really , mostly I find working  the  above way is less stressful .

Hope you , visitors, are keeping warm and  creating masterpieces of your own.

collecting inspirations

July 6th

Hello visitors,

one of the many advantages of belonging to a group such as Stampin’Up is that by joining in swaps /and or sharing card images is that it is not long before you have folders full of inspirations. Thus when you lose your mojo just sit yourself down with a cuppa and browse . Something you see  is sure to whet your creative appetite  , to inspire and motivate you in no time at all .

I am constantly being amazed by the sheer volume of talented craftys there are sharing their work .

Card Gallery

Made with a white card blank, green gingham paper , green flower embellishments, white brads and greeting[unknown stamp] and  green card .
I cut the apeture in  the front of card, layered the slightly smaller gingham paper on front then turned card over to cut out hole. On the back  inside of
card I cut green card to fit at top half behind apeture. I then adhered flowers and greeting as shown.
